Virginia Brown Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 pint of corn meal
  • 1 pint of light, white bread sponge
  • 1 cupful of molasses
  • Graham flour

Instructions

Pour enough boiling water over corn meal to thoroughly scald it; when cool add bread sponge, mix well together, add molasses, and Graham flour enough to mold; this will make two loaves; when light, bake in a moderate oven one and a half hours.
