Snowbirds

Ingredients

  • 12 thoroughly cleaned birds
  • 12 oysters
  • 2 ounces of boiled salt pork
  • 3 raw potatoes cut into slices
  • 1 pint of oyster liquor
  • 1 ounce of butter
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

Stuff each bird with an oyster, put them into a yellow dish, and add boiled salt pork and raw potatoes cut into slices; add oyster liquor, butter; salt and pepper; cover the dish with a crust and bake in moderate oven.
