Orange Float


  • 1 quart of water
  • juice and pulp of 2 lemons
  • 1 coffeecupful of sugar
  • 4 tablespoonfuls of cornstarch
  • 4 or 5 oranges
  • beaten whites of 3 eggs
  • vanilla


To make orange float, take water, the juice and pulp of the lemons, sugar. When boiling hot, add cornstarch. Let it boil fifteen minutes, stirring all the time. When cold, pour it over the oranges that have been sliced into a glass dish and over the top spread the beaten whites, sweetened and flavored with vanilla. A nice dessert.
