Macaroni á la Crême

Ingredients

  • 1/4 pound of macaroni
  • 1/2 pint of milk
  • 2 tablespoonfuls of butter
  • 1 tablespoonful of flour
  • 2 tablespoonfuls of cream
  • white and cayenne pepper
  • salt
  • 1/4 to 1/2 pound of grated cheese, according to taste

Instructions

Boil macaroni in plenty of hot water, salted, until tender; put milk in a double boiler, and when it boils stir into it a mixture of butter and flour. Add cream, a little white and cayenne pepper; salt to taste, and grated cheese. Drain and dish the macaroni; pour the boiling sauce over it and serve immediately.
