Huckleberry Short-Cake

Ingredients

• 2 cupfuls of sugar
• 1/2 cupful of butter
• 1 pint of sweet milk
• 1 tablespoonful of salt
• 2 heaping teaspoonfuls of baking powder sifted into
• 1 quart of flour, or enough to form a thick batter
• 1 quart of the huckleberries

Instructions

To be baked in a dripper; cut into squares for the table and served hot with butter. Blackberries may be used the same.
