Hop Beer

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces of hops
  • 4 ounces of bruised ginger root
  • 4 pounds of sugar
  • 1 pint of yeast

Instructions

Take five quarts of water, and the hops, boil it three hours; then strain the liquor, add to it five quarts of water, ginger root; boil this again twenty minutes, strain and add sugar. When luke-warm put in yeast. Let it ferment; in twenty-four hours it will be ready for bottling.
