4 tablespoonfuls of melted butter, or half butter and half lard
1/2 cupful of yeast
1 teaspoonful of salt
2 quarts of flour
Beat together milk, melted butter, yeast, salt and eggs. Stir into this flour. When this dough is risen, make into two large rolls and bake as any bread. Cut across the top diagonal gashes just before putting into the oven.
