Citron Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of white sugar
  • 1 cup of butter, creamed with sugar
  • 1 cup of sweet milk
  • 6 eggs, whites and yolks beaten separately
  • 1 teaspoonful of vanilla or lemon extract
  • 2 heaping teaspoonfuls of baking powder, sifted with flour
  • 4 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1 1/2 cups of citron, sliced thin and dredged with flour

Instructions

Divide into two cakes and bake in tins lined with buttered letter paper.
