Soda Cakes

Ingredients

• 1/2 pound of sugar
• 1 pint of milk
• 1 tea-spoonful of soda
• 2 pounds of flour
• 1/2 pound of butter

Instructions

Dissolve the sugar in the milk, add the soda; pour it on the flour; melt the butter, knead all together till light, put it in shallow moulds, and bake it quickly in a brisk oven.
