Pouding aux Figues


  • 1 cupful of breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup of farina
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 cup of suet, cut fine
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1 minced carrot
  • 1 1/2 cups of chopped figs
  • whole figs


Mix in a large bowl the breadcrumbs, farina, salt, suet, powdered sugar, carrot and chopped figs. Grease a baking mould, line it with whole figs, and empty the mixture into it. Cook for four hours, the pan standing in water. Serve hot with a rum sauce.
