German Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 cupful of milk
  • 1 egg
  • pinch of salt
  • 4 or 5 slices of bread

Instructions

Beat together egg, milk, and a little salt.

Dip slices of stale bread into this mixture, and fry on a griddle in butter or pork fat.

Serve hot with butter and maple syrup.
