Egg Bread


  • 1 quart meal
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon lard and butter


Pour a little boiling water over the meal to scald it. Add the salt and stir in the yolks of the eggs, milk, lard and butter melted. Add the whites last, well beaten.

Bake in a moderate oven till well done, almost an hour.
