Cottage Fruit Pudding

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 scant teaspoons baking powder

Instructions

Cream well together the butter, sugar, egg, milk, salt and flour. Beat well and add the baking powder, then turn into shallow, well-buttered pan, the bottom of which has been covered with fresh fruit of any kind.

Bake in moderate oven one-half hour. Serve with cream or sauce.
