Queen Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 pint of bread crumbs
  • 1 quart of milk
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • yolks of 4 eggs
  • grated rind of 1 lemon
  • piece of butter the size of a hen's egg

Instructions

Bake like a custard. When done, cover with the whites of the eggs, beaten to a stiff froth with one cup of sugar and the juice of the lemon. Put back in oven, and brown lightly.
