Marble Cake

Light Part

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sweet milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream tartar
  • whites of 4 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups flour

Dark Part

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream tartar
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • yolks of 4 eggs
  • 1/2 tablespoon of ground cloves
  • 1/2 tablespoon of allspice
  • 1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 tablespoon of nutmeg

Instructions

When both parts are ready, drop a spoon of light and then one of dark in the pan.
