Lemon Jelly Cake

Ingredients

  • yolks of 3 eggs
  • 1 cup of sugar, well beaten
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 heaped teaspoon of baking powder
  • about 1/2 cup of water
  • a little salt
  • whites of 3 eggs, well beaten

Jelly

  • juice and grated rind of 1 lemon
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon of corn starch dissolved in part of the water

Instructions

Put all together, and boil in a pail of water until it thickens.
