Delicious Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

• 3/4 cup butter
• 2 cups sugar
• 1 cup sweet milk
• 3 scant cups flour
• 3 teaspoonfuls baking powder
• whites of 5 eggs, beaten to a stiff froth

Instructions

Add egg whites last. Bake in layers.

Icing

• 2 cups of sugar
• white of 1 egg
• 1 ten cent cake of German chocolate, grated

Instructions

Boil sugar to a taffy; add the egg white, beaten to a stiff froth and German chocolate, grated. Beat the icing continually while stirring in the white of egg and until it is almost cold.
