Corn Bread
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pints corn meal
- 1/2 pint flour
- 1 tablespoonful sugar
- 1 teaspoonful salt
- 2 heaping teaspoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoonful lard
- 1 1/4 pints milk
- 2 eggs
Instructions
Sift together corn meal, flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
Rub in lard cold; add the egg.
Mix to a moderately stiff batter.
Bake in rather hot oven thirty minutes.
