Chocolate Cake

Chocolate

• 1/2 cup chocolate
• 1/2 cup milk
• yolk of 1 egg
• 1 cup pulverized sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

Grate chocolate; mix with milk, egg yolk, pulverized sugar, vanilla. Boil until chocolate and sugar are melted. Let this cool while making cake.

Cake

• 1 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup butter
• 1/2 cup milk
• 2 cups flour
• 2 eggs
• 2 teaspoons baking powder

Instructions

Add to this the boiled chocolate, and bake in layers.

Filling

• 2 cups granulated sugar
• 6 tablespoons water
• whites of 2 eggs
• vanilla

Instructions

Boil sugar and water until it threads; then stir into it the egg whites, well beaten. Flavor with vanilla.
