Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoonful vanilla
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 level teaspoonfuls baking powder
  • whites of 5 eggs, well beaten

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk (or a little more)
  • 1 lump of butter the size of a walnut
  • 1 teaspoonful vanilla

Instructions

Boil until waxy; remove from fire; beat until stiff. Spread melted chocolate on bottom and top of layers, and put the cream icing between.
