Soft Gingerbread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup New Orleans molasses
  • 1 cup good sweet milk
  • 5 cups of flour
  • 1 teaspoonful baking powder, not heaped
  • 2 tablespoonfuls ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoonful ground ginger

Instructions

Bake in small dripping pans not too full, as they will rise.
