Pancakes

With all her haughty looks, the time I've seen
When the proud damsel has more humble been;
When with nice airs she hoist the pancake round,
And dropt it, hapless fair! upon the ground.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoonfuls of flour
  • 6 well-beaten eggs
  • 3 tablespoonfuls of white wine
  • 4 ounces of melted butter nearly cold
  • 4 ounces of pounded loaf sugar
  • 1/2 grated nutmeg
  • 1 pint of cream

Instructions

To the flour add the eggs, white wine, melted butter, pounded loaf sugar, grated nutmeg, and cream. Mix it well, beating the batter for some time, and pour it thin over the pan.
