Spanish Bun

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs, leave out the whites of three for icing
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoonful cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 nutmeg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 spoonfuls baking powder

Instructions

Bake in flat tin well greased.

Icing

  • whites of 3 eggs
  • 1 cup of light brown sugar

Instructions

Take the whites, beat to a stiff froth then add light brown sugar; while the cake is hot, spread this over, return to the oven and brown.
