Tomatoes and String Beans

There are many vegetables that may be combined with tomatoes for the sake of variety.


  • 2 cups of cooked string beans
  • 1 1/2 cups of stewed tomatoes
  • 1 onion, grated
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch


Place string beans in a saucepan and add the rest of the ingredients. Dissolve the seasoning and starch in the cold tomatoes before adding to the beans. Lima beans, cauliflower and corn may be used to replace the string beans.
