Tomato Toast


  • 1 1/2 cups cooked tomatoes
  • 1 medium-sized onion, cut in thin slices
  • 1 green pepper, chopped very fine
  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons of water


Cook tomatoes, onion, and green pepper slowly until the onion is soft and then rub through a fine sieve and add cornstarch dissolved in water. Bring to a boil and then season. Now pour over thick slices of bread toasted brown and sprinkle with grated cheese.
