Spanish Steak


  • 2 pounds of round or chuck steak
  • 1 cup of sliced onions
  • 1 cup of well-drained tomatoes
  • salt
  • paprika
  • 4 tablespoons of grated cheese


Wipe meat with a damp cloth. Pat well with flour and lay on a baking dish. Place in a hot oven and baste every ten minutes, using about one cup of boiling water. Cook for twenty minutes and then add onions and tomatoes.

Return to the oven and bake for fifteen minutes and then remove and season with salt, paprika and grated cheese. Return to the oven for five minutes.
