Large Pound Cake
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cupfuls of sugar
- 8 ounces of shortening
- 6 eggs
- 5 cupfuls of sifted flour
- 3 level teaspoons of baking powder
- 1 1/2 cupfuls of milk
- 1 teaspoonful of mace
Instructions
Cream sugar and shortening together until light and fluffy. Then add egg yolks, flour, baking powder, milk, and mace. Beat for twenty minutes to blend and then carefully fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in a prepared pan for eighty minutes in a moderate oven.
