Italian Canape


  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 medium sized onion
  • 1 leek
  • 4 branches of parsley
  • 1 tomato
  • 4 tablespoons of shortening
  • 5 tablespoons of grated cheese
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika


Mince fine the green pepper, onion, leek, parsley, and tomato.

Now place shortening in a saucepan and add the vegetables. Cook slowly until tender and then add grated cheese, salt, and paprika.

Mix thoroughly and then spread on thin slices of toast. Garnish with sliced stuffed olives and dust with paprika.
