Dumplings for Stew

  • 1 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of grated onion
  • 2/3 cup of water

Place flour in a mixing bowl and then add salt, baking powder, pepper, and onion. Add water and mix to a dough. Drop by the spoonful into the stew and cover closely and boil for twelve minutes.

If you open the lid of the saucepan while the dumplings are cooking they will be heavy.
