Country Cheese Sandwiches


  • 1 cup of country or buttermilk cheese
  • 1/2 cup of thick mayonnaise
  • 1 onion, chopped very fine
  • 1 green pepper, chopped very fine
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 2 teaspoons of paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard


Place cheese in a bowl and add the rest of the ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Spread the rye bread with English butter, and then spread the filling between the slices of bread and cut into finger-width strips.
