Cooked Salad Dressing

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of vinegar
  • 3/4 cup of water
  • 3 level tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • 3/4 teaspoon of mustard
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 cup of sour cream

Instructions

Dissolve the starch in the water and add the vinegar and bring to a boil. Cook for three minutes and then remove, and add egg, salt, paprika, mustard, and sugar. Beat to mix and then beat in sour cream.

This dressing may be used on potatoes, chicken and celery salad and with cold meat or plain lettuce.
