Cabbage Soup

Ingredients

  • 3 onions, chopped fine
  • 1 fagot of soup herbs
  • 2 slices of salt pork, cut into dice
  • 1 1/4 pounds of soup meat, with bone in it
  • 2 1/2 cups of finely shredded cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of thyme

Instructions

Place 2 quarts of water, onions, herbs, salt pork, soup meat, and cabbage in a saucepan and cook slowly for one and three-quarter hours.

Add flour dissolved in 1/4 cup of water and season with salt, pepper, and thyme.
