Yeast Bread, No. 2


  • 1 cupful of Indian meal
  • 2 quarts of flour
  • 1 1/2 pints of boiling water
  • 1 tablespoonful of sugar
  • 1 teaspoonful of salt
  • 1/2 cake of compressed yeast


Pour the boiling water on the Indian meal. Stir well, and set away to cool. When blood warm, add the yeast, salt and sugar to it. Stir this mixture into the flour, and proceed as for yeast bread, No. 1.
