Squash Biscuit

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cupfuls of sifted squash
  • 1/2 a cupful of sugar
  • 1/2 a cake of compressed yeast, or 1/2 a cupful of liquid yeast
  • 1 cupful of milk
  • 1/2 a teaspoonful of salt
  • 4 tablespoonfuls of butter
  • 5 cupfuls of flour

Instructions

Dissolve the yeast in a scant half cupful of cold water. Mix it and the milk, butter, sugar, salt and squash together, and stir into the flour. Knead well, and let it rise over night.

In the morning shape into biscuit. Let these rise an hour and a half, and bake them half an hour.
