Gold Cake
Ingredients
- 1 cupful of sugar
- 1/2 a cupful of butter
- yolks of three eggs
- 1 whole egg
- 1/2 a cupful of milk
- 1/4 of a teaspoonful of soda
- 1/4 of a teaspoonful of cream of tartar
- 1 3/4 cupfuls of flour
Instructions
Mix the butter and sugar together, and add the eggs, milk, flavor and flour, in the order named.
Have the batter in sheets, and about two inches deep. Bake in a moderate oven for about half an hour.
A white frosting is good with this cake.
