Harvey's Sauce


  • 3 table-spoonfuls of walnut ketchup
  • 2 table-spoonfuls of essence of anchovies
  • 1 tea-spoonful of soy
  • 1 tea-spoonful of cayenne pepper
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • white wine vinegar


Take the walnut ketchup, essence of anchovies, soy, and cayenne pepper. Mix these together; put them, with the garlic, into a pint bottle, and fill it up with white wine vinegar.
