Curry. No. 3

Ingredients

  • onions
  • ginger
  • garlic
  • meat
  • 1 ounce of butter
  • 1 table-spoonful of curry-powder
  • 3 pints of water
  • greens, such as brocoli, cauliflower, sliced apple, and mango
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • cayenne
  • 2 spoonfuls of cream
  • flour

Instructions

Fry onions, ginger, garlic, and meat, in the butter, of a light brown; stew it with the curry-powder and water, till it comes to a pint and a half. A good half hour before dinner, put in greens, such as brocoli, cauliflower, sliced apple, and mango, the lemon juice, grated ginger, and cayenne, with the cream, and a little flour to thicken it.
