Buns. No. 1


  • 2 pounds of flour
  • 1/4 pound of butter
  • 1 pound of currants
  • 1/4 pound of moist sugar
  • a few caraway seeds
  • 2 spoonfuls of good yest


Rub the butter in the flour like grated bread; set it to the fire to dry: put in the currants and moist sugar, with the caraway seeds, and the yest; make the dough into small buns; set them to rise half an hour: you may put two or three eggs in if you like.
