Red Wine Soup


  • 1 cup of good red wine
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 3 small pieces of cinnamon bark
  • yolk of 1 egg


Put on to boil the red wine and water, sweeten to taste, add cloves and cinnamon bark, let boil ten minutes, and pour while boiling over the well-beaten yolk. Eat hot or cold. This quantity serves one person.
