Eggless Ginger Gems

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of molasses
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon each of ginger and cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 2 1/2 cups of sifted flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder

Instructions

Mix molasses, sugar, butter, and warm slightly; beat up well and stir at least ten minutes. Add ginger and cinnamon; and gradually milk and flour in which has been sifted baking powder. One-fourth cup of currants or seeded raisins may be added. Bake in well-greased gem pans and eat warm for tea or lunch.
