Corn Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of corn-meal
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 3 teaspoons of baking-powder
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 egg

Instructions

Mix and sift corn-meal, flour, sugar, salt, baking-powder. Melt butter and add to one egg; mix milk and egg and beat this into the dry ingredients, pour this mixture into well-greased tins and bake in a hot oven one-half hour. Cut in squares and serve hot. Bake in gem tins if preferred.
