Boiled Dressing

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of mustard
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of flour
  • a few grains of cayenne
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 1/2 cup of cream or milk

Instructions

Mix salt, mustard, sugar, flour and cayenne. Beat eggs until lemon-colored and add the dry ingredients with vinegar and melted butter. Cook over boiling water until thick; strain, add cream or milk. Beat until smooth, and cool.
