Gooseberry Catsup

Ingredients

  • 10 pounds of large English gooseberries
  • 7 pounds of coffee sugar
  • 3 pints of vinegar
  • 2 tablespoonfuls of cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoonful of allspice
  • 1 tablespoonful of cloves

Instructions

Boil the gooseberries, coffee sugar, and vinegar together for an hour and a half. Then add the cinnamon, allspice and cloves and boil half an hour longer. Put in jars and seal.
