To make Whiggs


  • 2 pounds of flour
  • 1 pound of butter
  • 1 pint of cream
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 spoonfuls of yeast
  • 1/2 pound of sugar
  • 1/2 pound of carraway comfits


Take the flour, butter, cream, eggs (leaving out two of the whites), and yeast, set them to rise a little; when they are mixed add the sugar, and the carraway comfits, make them up with sugar and bake them in a dripping pan.
