Molasses Sauce

This sauce is intended especially for apple dumplings and puddings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pint of molasses
  • 1 tablespoonful of butter
  • juice of 1 lemon, or 1 large spoonful of vinegar

Instructions

Boil twenty minutes. It may be thickened with a tablespoonful of corn-starch dissolved in a little cold water, but is good in either case.
