Water Eggs

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 ounces of sugar
  • rind and juice of 1/2 a lemon

Instructions

Boil the sugar and lemon rind and juice in 1/2 pint of water for 15 minutes. Beat the eggs well, and add to them the sweetened water. Strain the mixture through a sieve into the dish in which it is to be served, place it in a larger dish with boiling water in a moderately hot oven, and bake until set. Serve hot or cold.
