Chocolate Cake (2)


  • 4 ounces of butter
  • 1/4 pound of castor sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • milk
  • 1/2 pound of Allinson fine wheatmeal
  • 1 heaped tablespoonful of cocoa


Work butter to a cream, add castor sugar, eggs, and a little milk. Mix together wheatmeal, cocoa. Add to the butter mixture, and bake on a shallow tin or plate in a quick oven. The cake can be iced when done, and cut, when cold, into diamond-shaped pieces or triangles.
