Batter Bread with Yeast


  • piece of butter the size of an egg
  • 1 quart of corn meal
  • salt
  • 2 eggs
  • new milk
  • 1 spoonful of yeast


Rub the butter into the corn meal, add a little salt, make it in a batter with the eggs and some new milk, add the yeast, set it by the fire an hour to rise, butter little pans, and bake with a quick heat.
