Plain Rump Steak


  • 3 pounds of tender rump steak
  • 1 level teaspoonful of salt
  • 1/4 saltspoonful of pepper
  • 1 ounce of butter
  • 2 tablespoonfuls of grated horseradish


Broil the rump steak according to directions in receipt for Beefsteak, put it on a hot dish, season it with the salt, and pepper, spread over it the butter, and lay the horseradish on the side of the platter, and serve it hot, without delay.
