Onion Sauce


  • 6 ounces of onions
  • 1/2 pint of boiling milk
  • 1 ounce of butter
  • 1 saltspoonful of salt
  • 1/4 saltspoonful of pepper


Prepare the onions as in receipt for Sage and Onion Stuffing; chop them fine, pass them through a sieve with a wooden spoon, and put them into the boiling milk, with the butter, salt, and pepper.
